Julius W. Schneider
Julius W. “Jay” Schneider passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 9, 2017. Born in West Hazleton on June 27, 1943, he was the son of the late Julius “Red” Schneider and Eleanor (James) Schneider. Jay was a 1961graduate of West Hazleton High School and a 1965 graduate of Yale University. He also completed graduate work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.Mr. Schneider married the former Arlene Frumin, who preceded him in death. They are survived by their son, Ted Schneider, Chicago, IL; daughter and son-in-law Paige and A.J. Emerson, Silver Spring,Md.; and grandchildren, Annie and Gady Emerson. Jay was a CPA with Price Waterhouse early in his career, then worked as a recruiter and HR consultant in the professional services industry.
He was also an active member of Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, where he served on the board and sang in the Choir for many years. Mr. Schneider is survived by his brothers, James A Schneider and Thomas Schneider.
Memorial services will be held April 29 at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, Bethesda,Md. Donations in memory of Jay may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
